A Treat For The Doomsday Solstice

As we greet the winter solstice and the light of a new year begins to shine, the mind recalls all that has happened this year. Birthdays, marriages, and funerals. All the ups and downs of the year form a horizon line of data and experience that will form the basis of the impending layer of change.

Neuron Dreamtime is inseparable and nonexempt from these changes of ebb and flow.

We, as individuals, are still pouring our hearts into our crafts and our lives. We are diligently following our own paths while sharing our experiences and the things we’ve learned. As much as I wanted to have the new album ready for a December 21st release date it’s obvious that this won’t happen and it’s for the best as there is a lot of polishing to do. We’ve pretty much got the track-list down with some ordering still needed. The tracks themselves are well into their final mixes with only a few songs needing vocals recorded and then they’ll go through a tumble in the mastering mechanism. After that it’s off to duplication, packaging, then the full-blown release.

As mentioned here a few months ago we’ve also been eyeballing the options and obstacles of bring Neuron Dreamtime to the realm of Live performance. We’re exploring a MIDI controller and how to interface it with our creations in a such a way that they have a uniqueness from their studio counterparts and so they can be tweaked on the fly with a bit of ease.

All of this, the new album and the live incarnation, should come to a head near the second quarter of 2013.

All Who Wander Are Not Lost (music video)

Celebration in unION

The Ebb of Autumn

Things have settled down considerably in the land of the new album, only tiny steps are being taken but we’re still approaching. The ebb phase has arrived as it always seems to after a flow and the projects that were once on the front burner are switched with projects on the back burner, therefore there is never a dull moment and projects have their incubation periods. In the outer-land of music unrelated to the new album there are a couple theme songs in the works for a set of comical webisodes (unrelated to each other) and the Tweaker remix is also manifesting. A relapse into visual art has also occurred and ideas for a new ambient project are being bounced around the gray matter. Also, in wake of the V-Amp death, the scouting for new equipment is also in phase.

RIP V-Amp & other news

“Since before the beginning of ND this machine has been with me. I’ve developed my style with of it and my love for sound. It had been teetering on the brink for sometime now. Took it out of storage and it sang a final screeching swan song a few days ago, a horrid bout of feedback that could wake the dead. Now it sits, talking to itself in a garbled electronic language only Tesla could understand. It will be remembered as it was, the backbone of sound in IAMOM and instrumental component in the following 3 full length albums and 2 EPs and recycled as it is, a broken lunatic of a noise beacon that lays await for a chance to be plugged to an amp to spread the schizophrenic word of a ghost in the machine.
